Biography

Helen C. Semerjian, aka "Ma"

born December 1, 1925
died April 10, 2012

"When she was good she was very, very good.
But when she was bad she was horrid."

Ma, having no better options, passed away on April 10, 2012 after 86 years of life. Her beautiful smile is already sorely missed. She bested breast cancer but was felled by sepsis.

Helen was born in Fitchburg to Mary (Arabajian) and Edward Semerjian, and lived in Fitchburg, Brihgton, Everett, and finally in Framingham, to be near her daughter.

Helen had good memories of working at Sarni's Dry Cleaners and relished serving Navy officers during WW2. Ma adored men in uniform!

Widowed young by Norman Semerjian and left with a small daughter, she reached out to an old boyfriend, James F “Jimmy” Pettingill, and started a new love life that lasted 36 years, till Jimmy's death. Despite Helen's later life being fraught with depression and illness, she captured happy times through good friends, eating at restaurants, playing slots, and loving and caring for her toy poodles, Hot Shot and Monty (deceased) and devoted Teddy.

Loving mother of Arlene Semerjian, PhD and her husband Rick Heinrichs, PhD of Framingham. Sister to Mary Doherty, of Wilmington, and dearly departed Nerses ”Lefty”, John and Ann Semerjian. Tender hearted aunt of Linda Weston and family of Woburn. Survived by, and because of, kind and vigilant friends in chronological order, Percy S., Dolores R., Diane E., Bill G., Cindy K., Maria B., Cornelia D., Elza P., Douglas B., and her " A Team," Sara, Annette, and Fausta of Wingate at Sudbury.

No more furrowed brow, no more worries.

A memorial visitation and service will be held at the Giragosian Funeral Home, 576 Mt.
